Arbita Presents Sourcing and Recruiting Best Practices at Kennedy Information's Recruiting 2008 Conference and Expo

Don Ramer, Shally Steckerl and Glenn Gutmacher to lead multiple sessions

Minneapolis, MN – November 17, 2008 – Arbita, a provider of recruitment marketing technology, media and services, will lead several sessions on sourcing and recruiting best practices at Kennedy Information's Recruiting 2008 Conference and Expo.  CEO and Founder Don Ramer, Executive Vice President Shally Steckerl and Vice President, ACES Glenn Gutmacher are all scheduled to speak during the conference.  Arbita will also exhibit at the conference, providing attendees the opportunity to see Arbita's expanded range of products and services bolstered by the company's merger with JobMachine earlier this year. Date and times for speakers are:

  • Recruiting industry stalwart Don Ramer will speak Tuesday, November 18 from 11:35 a.m. - 12:20 p.m.  Mr. Ramer's session is entitled "Recruiting that Shows People Matter: Using (Un)common Courtesy to Build Employment Brand."  Mr. Ramer is well known for his position at the vanguard of compassionate recruiting, and his session will demonstrate how the application of simple courtesy can improve candidate quality, reduce cost and shorten cycle-time to create real recruiting advantage. Guests will learn how to embed courtesy, respect and reciprocity in the recruiting processes through technology and recruiter training and development and how organizational focus on the human side of recruitment and selection reduces recruiter burnout and boosts productivity.
  • Shally Steckerl, who was JobMachine’s founder and "Chief Cybersleuth" before joining Arbita via a merger between the two companies earlier this year, has emerged as one of the recruiting industry's most respected authorities on sourcing.  Mr. Steckerl will speak Tuesday, November 18 from 2:40 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. on the topic of "In-House Sourcers: Building and Managing a Research Resource."  His session will demonstrate how to find, select, hire, manage and lead world-class researchers while recounting his stories as a sourcing guru who built and led some of the world's most successful sourcing teams. Mr. Steckerl will help guests learn if they need dedicated sourcers, how to measure the research function, what to look for (and what to avoid) when hiring sourcers, how best to organize researchers to support recruiters, and performance enhancers and inhibitors for sourcers.
  • Glenn Gutmacher will also speak Tuesday, November 18 from 11:35 a.m. - 12:20 p.m.  Mr. Gutmacher is a leading innovator in online sourcing and offers more than a decade of experience as a consultant and recruiter development expert.  He will present along with Dave Mendoza "10 Things Every Recruiter Can Do with Social Networks ... And a Couple You Shouldn't."  Guests of the session will learn the proven practices of top recruiters using LinkedIn, Facebook, MySpace, Plaxo and discussion groups.  Mr. Gutmacher will also show how blogs are really social networks and delineate a step by step approach for utilizing social networking hacks, aggregators and people finders to meet recruitment goals.
  • Mr. Gutmacher will also co-present with Dave Mendoza "Healthcare Recruiting Using Social Networks" Tuesday, November 18 from 1:45 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.  This session will help guests leverage social network strategies for successful healthcare recruitment while also improving their online brand.
  • Mr. Gutmacher will also appear on a panel moderated by Gerry Crispin from 3:35 p.m. - 4:40 p.m. on Monday, November 17.  The panel is entitled "Where the Corporate Sourcing Function is Headed: Expert Views from the Trenches" and will offer attendees a dynamic overview of sourcing trends from the country's most revered sourcing practitioners.

"It's always a pleasure to meet with the professionals in our community at a high-quality event such as this one," said Don Ramer.  "I'm pleased to have this opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to the recruiting community by fielding such an accomplished group of speakers from Arbita.  I can't imagine a better demonstration of our engagement with the issues and trends impacting recruiting than this."
